Lady Mavs beat Eastern, remain in second place in conference

The NOC Lady Mavs remined in second place in the OCAC with a 74-71 win over Eastern Monday night.

The Lady Mavs (14-11) improved to 10-3 in conference while Eastern (14-10) fell to 7-5.

Jordan Holman once again led the Lady Mavs in scoring with 30 points.  Lexie Boyer added 13 while Kaydrin Scott had 12 points and 12 rebounds for NOC.

NOC trailed the Lady Mountaineers 67-65 with 2:59 left when the Lady Mavs went on a 9-4 run to end the game.

Boyer scored on a contested layup and then Holman converted a conventional 3-point play opportunity to give NOC a 70-67 lead.

After Eastern scored to cut the lead to 70-69, Scott scored on a short jumper and then Holman converted two free throws to give NOC a 74-69 lead.  Eastern scored to cut the lead to 74-71 and the Lady Mavs held on for the three point win.

NOC made 13 of 14 free throws on the night keying the Lady Mavs win.

Murray State leads the conference with an 11-1 mark.

The Lady Mavs are at Connors Thursday night at 5:30 p.m.
