A slow start cost the Lady Mavs in a 72-66 loss to Grayson County (TX) Tuesday night at Foster-Piper.

The Lady Mavs (2-6) were led by sophomore Jordan Holman with 20 points and freshman Allison Green with 11.

"Right now we're looking forward to conference play," said coach Greg Krause.  "Another tough game to add to our young team's experience and preparation."

Grayson jumped out to a 19-9 first quarter lead and built a 46-31 lead at half.

NOC chipped away in the second half but could never get the lead below 12.

The Lady Mavs open conference play Thursday night against Western at 5:30 p.m.
