The NOC Lady Mavs trailed by as many as 19 in the first half, rallied late but fell to Cowley 73-65 in Tonkawa Wednesday night.

The Lady Mavs (2-3) were led by Jordan Holman with 23 points and Kaydrin Scott with 15.  Holman had 19 in the second half.

"Great crowd again tonight," said coach Greg Krause.  "They helped bump our intensity level up a notch. A slow start has been a pattern for us that we have to improve upon. I think part of it is our youth and learning to play and compete at this level. Our tough schedule should assist that learning process."

After trailing 36-23 at half, the Lady Mavs cut the lead to seven points on six different occassions and once to 58-53 but Cowley answered each Lady Maverick rally.

The Lady Mavs are in Enid Friday against Garden City (KS) at 4:30 p.m. and against Butler (KS) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
