Mavs sweep NEO, extend streak to four

NOC Tonkawa extended their winning streak to four games with an 8-3 and 5-0 sweep of NEO on Tuesday.

The Mavs (26-22) are now 16-10 in conference and are tied for second place with Eastern behind Seminole.  

In the second game, Emma Enderud tossed a three hit shutout in a 5-0 NOC Tonkawa win.  Enderud struck out nine.

Kyla Storts had two hits and Jayden Looper provided a two run single for the Mavs.

NOC jumped out to a 3-0 lead and then scored two insurance runs in the sixth.

In Game 1, Morgan Meyer and Jayden Looper had two hits each and Lauren Bratcher allowed three runs over seven innings in an 8-3 win.

The Mavs trailed 2-2 and then rallied for six runs in the fifth to take a 7-2 lead holding on for the 8-3 win.

Meyer added a double and drove in three runs while Looper and Savannah Chenoweth had two runs batted in each.

Bratcher fanned nine while allowing four hits.

The Mavs host Connors at 5 p.m. Wedensday, May 3, in the final regular season games of the year.

The Region 2 Tournament begins May 11 at Piedmont High School.
