The Patrick Nee era started with a win Wednesday night as the Mavs routed Oklahoma Wesleyan JV 90-59 inside Foster-Piper Fieldhouse.

NOC was led by Mohamed Kante with 18 points while Javontae Campbell added 13 and Jason Hunt 12.

"It was nice to get our first win at home in front a great crowd," said coach Patrick Nee. "I've never been in a locker room where everyone had just accomplished their first win at a school together, it was a fun feeling.  I'm so excited to see what this group can accomplish."

The Mavs raced out to an early 12-0 lead and were never threatened by OK Wesleyan although the visitors hung around with the Mavs who took a 41-28 lead at half.

NOC then pulled away in the second half with a 26-7 run to blow the game wide open.

The Mavs are at the Cowley Classic in Arkansas City, Kansas, Friday and Saturday facing #14 Coffeyville (KS) on Friday at 3 p.m. and Cowley College (KS) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
