NOC Tonkawa picks up road sweep at Murray

TISHOMINGO, Oklahoma --  NOC Tonkawa swept Murray State Saturday afternoon 8-1 and 6-2 in Tishomingo.

In Game 1, Logan Taylor allowed just one run on two hits in seven innings in an 8-1 Mavs win.

Taylor struck out seven walked four.

Designated Hitter Matthew Stancliff had two hits and four runs batted in while Landen Johnson, Ethan Starks and Carson Taylor had two hits each.

The Mavs led 2-0 before scoring three runs in the 4th and 5th to build an 8-0 lead.

In Game 2, the Mavs broke open a 2-1 game with a pair of runs in the 7th and 9th to complete the sweep over Murray 6-2.

Luke Shannahan had two hits including a solo home run while Blade Carver and Johnson drove in two runs each.

Liam McKinney earned the win from the Mavs' bullpen working 3.1 innings allowing one run.

The Mavs (19-6) improved to 6-0 in conference play while Murray (13-11) fell to 1-5.
