NOC Tonkawa used a five run 6th inning to beat Redlands 6-3 in the conference opener on Thursday at Maverick Field.

NOC trailed the Cougars 3-1 in the 6th when Ethan Starks and Blayke Nunn both reached setting up the inning.

Elijah Laus then doubled home Starks and the lead was cut to 3-2.  Larry Edwards, Jr. then tripled scoring Nunn and Laus and the Mavs had a 4-3 lead.

A Carson Taylor double scored Edwards and then a Blade Carver double scored Taylor and the Mavs led 6-3.

The Mavs scored their first run in the 3rd when Ethan Rossi singled home Blade Carver.

Caleb Lunnon earned the win working six innings allowing three runs on nine hits.

Kaegan Baker worked two hitless innings and Nakni Anna tossed a hitless 9th to earn the save.

The Mavs (13-6) are at Redlands for a conference doubleheader on Saturday.
