HESSTON, Kansas - NOC Tonkawa bats were alive in a three game sweep of Hesston (KS) Friday and Saturday.
The Mavs scored 72 runs on ?? hits in the sweep. NOC pitchers allowed just 10 runs in the three games.
In Game 1, Landen Johnson hit two home runs while Blade Carver, Ethan Starks, Larry Edwards, Jr., and Nakni Anna had homers for the Mavs.
Anna, Starks, and Ethan Rossi had four runs batted in each. Anna Johnson, and Edwards had three hits each.
Caleb Lunnon worked four innings allowing one run on four hits. Jakeb Koop worked the final three innings.
In Game 2, the Mavs pounded 23 hits in scoring 22 runs.
Carver, Luke Shannahan, and Matthew Stancliff homered for the Mavs, Landen Johnson added three doubles.
Stancliff, Johnson, and Shannahan had three hits each for NOC. Shannahan and Kelly Yancy drove in three runs each.
Brendon Carter and Cale Schroeder combined on the mound allowing one earned run on four hits.
Game 3 saw the same result as the Mavs pounded the Larks 20-2 behind an 18 hit attack.
Rossi and Carson Taylor had three hits each while Rossi led the Mavs with four runs batted in.
Carson Loyd worked 4.1 innings with bullpen help from Kaegan Baker and Sean Hammett.
The Mavs (7-1) are at Southwestern (KS) for a nine-inning game on Monday.
