ENID, Oklahoma --  The NOC Mavs made short work of UA Rich Mountain in the first round of the NJCAA Plains District Tournament with a 10-0 run rule on Thursday.

Eli Cartwright didn't need much offensive support as the sophomore lefthander tossed a one-hit, five-inning shutout.  Cartwright struck out eight.

He had plenty of support from a 14-hit attack led by Matt Stancliff and Jorge Olivo who had three hits each.  

Darian Duhon added two doubles while Preston Knott and Cade Tucker added two hits each.

The Mavs jumped out to a 4-0 lead and were never threatened scoring in four of the five innings.

The Mavs face the NOC Enid-Western winner Friday at 4 p.m.
