Mavs split with Rich Mountain

Ethan Starks single scored Cash Jay with the go-ahead run in the seventh leading the Mavs to a 9-8 win over Rich Mountain (AR) on Thursday.

The Mavs lost the first game to the Bucks 16-11.

In Game 2, the Mavs led 8-4 before Rich Mountain scored four runs in the seventh to knot the game at 8-8.

In the bottom half, Jay doubled and was chased home on Starks' single to give the Mavs a 9-8 lead.

David Brown earned the win in relief in back of Caleb LunnonBlake Priest earned the save with two hitless innings.

Matt Stancliff homered and doubled while Darian Duhon had three hits including a double.  Both drove home three runs for NOC.

Jay and Mitchell Lucero had two hits each.

In Game 1, Rich Mountain broke open a 10-9 lead with six runs over the final five innings to win 16-11.

Duhon, Stancliff, Jay and Jorge Olivo had two hits each.  Jay had a double and five runs batted in.

Eli Cartwright started for the Mavs.

NOC Tonkawa (31-15) is 17-9 in conference while the Bucks (16-27) are 8-18 in league.

The Mavs are at Rich Mountain Saturday at 1 p.m.
