Mavs fall twice to Carl Albert

POTEAU, Oklahoma --  The NOC Mavs saw their six game winning streak was snapped Sunday at Carl Albert as the Mavs lost a twin bill 6-5 and 13-9.

The Mavs (18-11) fell to 7-5 in conference play.

In Game 1, the rallied from a 6-2 deficit scoring three runs in the final two innings but lost 6-5.

Cash Jay and Elijah Laus homered for the Mavs, Laus had three hits while Jay had two runs batted in.

Caden Fiveash tossed a complete game allowing six runs on seven hits.

In Game 2, the Mavs for the second straight game rallied late against the Vikings but fell short 13-9.

NOC trailed 10-1 before rallying to as close as 13-9.

Matt Stancliff had two hits including a home run and five runs batted in.  Preston Knott had two hits and two runs scored.

Nate Windle started for the Mavs with bullpen work from Gage Norvell, Brenden Kamnick, and Cale Schroeder.

NOC is at Hesston (KS) Tuesday for a non-conference nine-inning game.
