Strong starting pitching leads Mavs to sweep of Carl Albert

NOC Tonkawa picked up quality starts from Eli Cartwright and Caleb Lunnon in a double header sweep of Carl Albert Thursday in Tonkawa.

The Mavs won the first game 6-0 and the night cap 5-2.

In Game 1, Cartwright worked six shutout innings allowing six hits and striking out 10.

Darian Duhon provided the offense with three hits including a home run and a double.  Preston Knott and Matt Stancliff had two his each.

NOC jumped out to a 5-0 lead and never looked back in the 6-0 win.

In Game 2, Lunnon worked seven strong innings allowing one run on seven hits.  Gage Norvell worked two innings earning the win.

The Mavs broke open a 2-2 tie with three runs in the eighth as Cade Tucker, Enrique Alvarez Jr., and Preston Knott getting key base hits in the three run inning.

NOC (18-9) is at Carl Albert Saturday to complete the four game series.
