The 13th ranked Allen Men's Soccer team travelled to Tonkawa yesterday to take on Northern Oklahoma College. It was a tough fought game with the Devils controlling the possession and shots on goal in the first half. The Devils were able to mount a couple great attacks that forced the Mavericks goalkeeper to come up with a couple big saves to keep the score tied at zero.
At halftime the score was 0-0 with the Devils having 8 shots on goal to the Mavericks 3. The second half was much of the same, with Allen controlling the action and opportunities on goal. In the 70th minute, Thiago Fernandes played a ball back to Yuto Kamakura who hammered the ball in the top corner of the net from 8 yards out to put the Devils up 1-0. The last 20 minutes saw both teams have great chances to score, but neither team could put one in, which resulted in a 1-0 win for the devils. Samuel Montanez played all 90 minutes and came up with 6 big saves in the shutout victory.
The Red Devils are now 5-0-1 on the season and play at Cowley on Saturday at 6pm.
