
Natalie Walker led six Lady Mavs in double figures with 21 points in a 99-88 win over Western Saturday evening at the Foster-Piper Fieldhouse.
The Lady Mavs (5-9) improved to 2-0 in league play while Western (8-8) fell to 0-2.
Alanna Williams and Aubrey Bridges added 16 points each while Marta Perez Souza had 15, Caitlyn Busch 11, and Leila Washington 10.
The Lady Mavs shot 52% from the floor and 51% from 3-point range. Washington led the Lady Mavs with eight rebounds while Kyra Criss added seven.
NOC built a 92-71 lead in the fourth quarter before Western cut into the lead with a late run.
"We flowed a lot better into our shots - less hesitation and stayed aggressive," said coach Greg Krause. "Our defensive pressure gave us a good start and we were able to maintain some of that momentum. Good conference win."
The Lady Mavs host Seminole at 5:30 p.m. at Foster-Piper Fieldhouse.
