The NOC Lady Mavs fell to #1 Hutchinson (KS) Friday night in Tonkawa 79-45.

NOC was led by Leila Washington with 20 points.  Marta Perez Souza added nine points and led NOC with seven rebounds and four assists.

Ella Murphy added five rebounds off the NOC bench.

The Lady Mavs shot just 30% from the floor and 17% from 3-Point range.

"I knew it would be a challenging opener, but these kind of games help us learn and adjust," said coach Greg Krause.  "I thought we played hard and did a pretty good job defensively. We're still finding our way offensively, player rotation wise and identifying our scorers. Hutch shot well and we didn't, from free throws, to good looks around the basket, to 3 point attempts. I think we will be a good rebounding team. We outrebounded them the first half, but not the second. The first semester schedule is all prep for the conference schedule that begins in January."
