ARKANSAS CITY, Kansas -- Lexie Boyer's fourth 3-pointer in the game's final minute led the NOC Lady Mavs past Allen (KS) 57-54 in the Cowley Classic in Arkansas City, Kansas, on Friday.

Boyer had 16 points while Jordan Holman led the Lady Mavs with 17.

NOC led Allen 51-45 in the fourth before Allen rallied to take a 52-51 lead.  Maddy Wehrenberg then hit a 3-pointer to give NOC a 54-52 lead.  After Allen tied the game at 54-54, Boyer hit the game winner.

Allen had several chances to tie the game but NOC's defense held on for the Lady Mavs first win of the season.

"It was a tough, defensive-minded game," said coach Greg Krause.  "Our defense has been our strength and good defense allowed us to stay close. Some good runs offensively in the fourth quarter helped create enough space to hang on."

Holman added five rebounds and three steals.

The Lady Mavs face Cowley (KS) at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
