Big 4th quarter leads Lady Mavs past Connors

WARNER, Oklahoma – The Northern Oklahoma College Lady Mavs picked up a good road win at Connors Thursday night in Warner.

The Lady Mavs were 64-45 winners over the Cowgirls.

Jordan Holman led the Lady Mavs with 23 points while Shelby Rayner added 18.

Holman added 13 rebounds while Rayner had four assists and five steals.

The Lady Mavs broke open a tight game with a 21-5 edge in the fourth quarter.  NOC led 43-40 after three quarters and then blew the game open in the final 10 minutes.

"We went on a nice run in the 4th quarter, defended well with some pressure and hit some shots," said coach Greg Krause.  "It was a good conference road win and our first game since Dec. 3. It was good to get back on the court again."

NOC hosts Redlands on Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Foster-Piper Fieldhouse.

Thursday's game was the first for the Lady Mavs this semester, their three previous games were canceled/postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.

The Lady Mavs (8-6) improved to 3-1 in conference play with the 64-45 win.  Connors (7-12) fell to 1-4 in league play.
