Lady Mavs lose Bedlam Round 1 86-62

ENID,  Oklahoma --  NOC Enid won Bedlam Round 1 with an 86-62 win over NOC Tonkawa Monday night at the Mabee Center.

The Lady Mavs (6-6) dropped to 2-1 in conference while NOC Enid (2-5) improved to 1-2 in conference play.

NOC Tonkawa was led by freshman Jordan Holman with 21 points while Delaney Reimer added 15.  Holman added 13 rebounds and six steals.

"I didn't think we responded well to the pressure of a tough conference game, particularly our rebounding quickness and toughness," said coach Greg Krause.  "We've got work to do."

The Lady Mavs, playing without point guard Shelby Rayner, got off to a slow start on the road as the Lady Jets opened a 17-7 lead after the first 10 minutes.  The Lady Mavs cut the lead to 21-13 but Enid then went on a 20-7 run to take a 41-24 halftime lead.

The Lady Mavs cut the lead to 14 in the third quarter but that's as close as they would get.

NOC Enid was led by LaKysia Johnson with 24.

The Lady Mavs travel to Bartlesville Friday for a 1:30 p.m. tip-off with Oklahoma Wesleyan JV.
