Lady Mavs beat NEO 66-60, improve to 6-4

Northern Oklahoma College basketball handled NEO Monday night 66-60 earning their second conference win of the season.

The Lady Mavs (6-4) were led by Jordan Holman with 21 points while Shelby Rayner added 17.

NOC built a double figure lead in the first half only to see NEO battle back in the second half to take a 55-54 lead with 5:15 remaining.

The Lady Mavs then went on a 7-3 run to take a 61-58 lead.  NEO cut the lead to 61-60 but NOC scored the final five points of the game to take the 66-60 win.  Holman and Rayner combined for the Lady Mavs' final 10 points of the game.

"I thought our defense did a good job of applying some ball pressure," said coach Greg Krause.  "We still have work to do on containing the ball when trapping, but we're seeing improvement with our team defense. Another big thing tonight was our offensive rebounding. We did a good job extending our offensive possessions."

Addie Trent led the Lady Mavs with 10 rebounds while Rayner added three assists.
