Balanced scoring leads Lady Mavs past Cowley

What a difference a week makes.

Last week, Cowley beat the Lady Mavs by 25 points, this week NOC (3-2) turned the tables with an 87-75 win Wednesday night at Foster-Piper Fieldhouse.

Jordan Holman led five Lady Mavs in double figures with 24 points.  Delaney Reimer added 14, Shelby Rayner 12, Jatalyah Williams 12, and Travisha Cogdell 10.

Addie Trent led the Lady Mavs with 10 rebounds while Holman added four assists and Rayner three steals.

"I thought our team defense was much improved at protecting dribble penetration and defending their hard-cutting offense," said coach Greg Krause.  "On offense, I felt like we did a pretty good job of reading and reacting to their defensive sets. It was a good game for us in terms of seeing improvement in several areas."

The two teams were tied at 46-46 when the Lady Mavs went on an 18-11 run to end the quarter taking a 64-57 lead.

NOC led 74-67 with 3:00 left when the Lady Mavs went on a 13-8 run to finish the game.  NOC built as much as a 15 point edge in the game's final minute before the 87-75 final.

The Lady Mavs shot 43% from the floor and 35% from 3-point range.
