Lady Mavs drop home game to Clarendon

The Northern Oklahoma College Lady Mavs lost to Clarendon (TX) Monday night 85-74 at Foster-Piper Fieldhouse.

NOC (2-2) was led by Shelby Rayner with 23 points while Jordan Holman added 20.

Delaney Reimer added 13 while Travisha Cogdell added 11.

Cogdell led with seven rebounds while Rayner added six assists.

"We're still working on consistency," said coach Greg Krause.  "We have too many runs without scoring or shot attempts. And too many defensive possessions without timely helping or contested shots. It's a process of consistently improving."

Clarendon made a couple of early runs with the Lady Mavs answering each time.

The Lady Bulldogs led 42-33 at half before the Lady Mavs cut the lead to 44-43 in the third.  Clarendon then built a 78-58 lead before the Lady Mavs made a late run cutting the lead to 79-74 with :40.3 left.

Clarendon then made some late three throws to win 85-74.

NOC shot 34% from the floor and 26% from 3-point range.

The Lady Mavs host Cowley (KS) Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
