Hannah Maples led the Lady Mavs with 21 points and eight rebounds but it wasn't enough in a 61-58 loss to Crowder Tuesday night at the Foster-Piper Fieldhouse.

NOC (2-5) led Crowder 54-45 early in the final period before Crowder rallied with a 16-4 run to end the game.

A Maples' jumper gave NOC it's last lead at 56-54 with 2:08 remaining but Crowder scored five straight to take a 59-56 lead.  A Celeste Moore jumper cut the lead to 59-58 with :06 left but the Lady Mavs could get no closer.

Moore added eight rebounds and eight assists for the Lady Mavs.  Cassie Manning added 14 points off the Lady Mavs bench.  Chideyah Guyton also reached double figures with 11

"We shot poorly from the field (32 percent)," said coach Greg Krause.  "Holding a team to 61 points should be enough to win. We have to be more aggressive attacking the basket and getting to the free throw line. Four free throw attempts isn't enough." 

"Defensively, we gave up too much dribble penetration which allowed them some good looks from the 3-point line. I thought our legs looked tired. That was our seventh game in 12 days, which explains the leg fatigue. We'll rest up on Wednesday to prepare for back-to-back games Thursday and Friday in the classic at Enid."

"The other thing we have to work on is our point guard play. With Mia (Brown) out for an undetermined time, we need to effectively adjust our player rotation at that position."
