SHAWNEE, Oklahoma -- Sabela Reigosa Pernas led the NOC Lady Mavericks with 23 points and 11 rebounds in an 80-69 win over Redlands in the Region 2 Tournament at Shawnee Wednesday afternoon.

NOC (13-15) advances to the semi-finals where they face the NEO/Arkansas Baptist winner at 1 p.m. Friday.  Redlands ended their season at 15-13.

"We played really well in the second half," said Lady Mavs head coach Greg Krause.  "We worked the ball inside out and that led to much better shots on the offensive end.  Our defense both on the ball and away from the ball was much better."

Wednesday's game looked bleak for the Lady Mavs as they trailed Redlands 43-34 with 7:14 left in the third quarter before NOC went on a 28-13 run the remainder of the quarter to take a 62-56 lead heading to the final 10 minutes.

The Lady Mavs outscored Redlands 33-23 in the quarter.

The closest Redlands would get in the final quarter was 68-61 with 6:14 remaining.

Hannah Nealis had 18 points, 15 in the second half points while Chideyah Guyton had 15 off the Lady Mavs bench.

NOC out rebounded Redlands 42-33. 

In the first half, NOC shot 28 percent but was much better from the floor in the second half shooting 56 percent.
