FT. WORTH, Texas -- The Northern Oklahoma College Mavs opened the season at the Cowtown Classic in Ft. Worth, Texas.

The Mavs won two of their five games in the classic.

NOC beat Lamar State College-Port Arthur (TX) and Laredo (TX) losing to Allen County (KS), Weatherford (TX) and Luna (TX).

In the classic, freshman Aylin Nunez was a standout for the Mavs with nine hits in the five games.  Nunez scored nine runs from the leadoff spot in the order.

Baylee Scrimshire had four rbi's in the classic while Kyia Monawhee had six runs batted in.

In the circle, Jenna Chassie and Taylor Lane picked up wins for the Mavs.

NOC hosts Murray State Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the home opener.
