MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -- Northern and Rose State have played two-hundred and twenty minutes of soccer this season without a winner.  The Mavs and Raiders played to a 1-1 tie Wednesday in Midwest City after playing to a 2-2 tie previously in Tonkawa.

Northern got off to a fast start with an early goal on a free kick.  Kevin Ayala played a great ball into the box and Marko Madaras headed it past the Rose State goalkeeper to put the Mavs up 1-0.  Rose State evened the game midway through the first half with goal.

Both teams had great chances in the second half.  Miguel Chavez had a great shot that forced a diving save by the Rose State goalkeeper, and Assanie Brown missed a point blank shot late in the game somehow shooting the ball over the goal from six yards out.  Rose State's best chance came on a free kick that was deflected by the wall, but Northern goalkeeper Aron Kanyai made a diving save to tip the ball just past the post.

Neither team could score in either of the overtime periods.

"I'm proud of the effort that the boys played with today," said coach Michael DuRoy.  "They know we are wrapping up our season, but they are still playing hard.  I was happy to see Marko get a goal and Aron made a tremendous save to keep us in the game."

The Mavs will conclude their season Sunday at home with a 3 p.m. PM kickoff.  Rich Mountain College will be the opponent.
