BIG SPRING, Texas --  Sophomore guard James Brown, Jr. led NOC with 27 points in a 94-67 loss to Howard (TX) on Saturday in the Howard Classic.

Brown was joined in double figures by Antwan Jones and Ebi Bortey with 11 points each.

The Mavs shot 40% from the floor and 32% from 3-point range.  NOC was 69% (22-32) from the line.

NOC trailed the Hawks 43-32 half before Howard extended the lead in the second half.

Jace Breath and Brandon Domsch led with four rebounds each, Brown had three assists.
