BIG SPRING, Texas -- In the first round of the Howard Classic in Big Spring, Texas, the Mavs dropped a heartbreaker to Midland (TX) 73-72.

Antwan Jones led the Mavs with 19 while Jace Breath added 17, and James Brown, Jr. 10.

NOC shot 37% from the floor but just 17% from 3-point range.  NOC was 26-37 from the foul line.

Brandon Domsch led the Mavs with nine rebounds while Brown had three assists and Breath four steals.

The Mavs (3-9) face Howard (TX) on Saturday.
