NOC Tonkawa fell to Cowley (KS) 86-63 Wednesday night at the Foster-Piper Fieldhouse.
The Mavs trailed 31-29 at half to the Tigers and took the a 36-35 lead on a James Brown, Jr., layup.
Cowley then built a 10 point lead, though the Mavs cut the lead to 60-54 with 5:49 left.
The Tigers then went on a 26-9 run to end the game.
Brown led the Mavs with 21 while Benji Nelson added 19.
The Mavs (2-5) are in Hobbs, New Mexico, Friday and Saturday for the New Mexico Classic.
They face Lamar (CO) on Friday and New Mexico on Saturday.
