LIBERAL, Kansas --- Benji Nelson scored on a short baseline jumper with :07 left leading NOC to a 71-69 win over Seward (KS) Monday night in Liberal, Kansas.

NOC improved to 2-4 with the win.

The Mavs trailed the Saints 68-67 when Nelson drove the left baseline scoring from six feet to give NOC a 69-68 lead.  After forcing a Seward miss with :03 remaining, Kody Hickerson made two free throws to seal the 71-68 win.

Nelson led the Mavs with 26 points while Hickerson and Jace Breath added 14 each.

Jack Riley added 12 rebounds for the Mavs.  NOC shot 46% from the floor and 41% from 3-point range.

The Mavs host Cowley Colley Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Foster-Piper Fieldhouse.
