GARDEN CITY, Kansas --  James Brown, Jr. scored 27 points Saturday in an 89-81 win over Dodge City in the Garden City Classic.

Benji Nelson added 17 for the Mavs while Jack Riley had 12 and Brandon Domsch 10.

Nelson and Riley added nine rebounds each while Riley and Brown added four assists each.  

The Mavs led throughout taking a 42-37 lead into the dressing room at half and expanded the lead in the second half.

The win improved the Mavs to 1-4 on the year.  NOC hosts Cowley (KS) Wednesay at 7:30 p.m.
