Lederer's 28 leads Mavs over NOC Enid

Avante Lederer and Tyrel Morgan combined for 50 points in a 96-71 win over the NOC Enid Jets.

The 9th ranked Mavs (21-3) improved to 7-3 in OCAC play while NOC Enid (14-11) fell to 5-6 in league play.

The Mavs blistered the nets shooting 60 percent from the field and 52 percent from 3-point range.

Morgan added 10 rebounds, Demaree King added 10 points.  Lederer led the Mavs with 28 points on just 12 shots from the floor.

"I really thought we sustained good energy from start to finish," said coach Donnie Jackson.  "I challenged them to keep pace and they responded to the challenge.  JD (Ray) and Demaree (King) kept pushing the ball and that's what we wanted."

"Enid did some really good things against us," he added.  "Their 1-3-1 zone bothered us for a while and (Josh) Perkins killed us on the glass.  We did make a few adjustments at half and it always helps when you make shots.  Avante (Lederer) was a big part of that."

"Now we have to focus on Connors," Jackson said.  "It will not be the same game as here.  They are healthy and they will be out for revenge.  It is extremely tough to go to Warner and win.  This game is huge if we want to hang around in the conversation for conference."

The Mavs are currently in 3rd place behind Murray and NEO.
