Mavs drop road game at NEO

MIAMI, Okla. -- The Northern Oklahoma College Mavericks dropped a key road game at NEO 75-68 Monday night in Miami.

The 9th ranked Mavs (20-3) fell to 6-3 in league play while NEO (16-6) improved to 9-1 in league play. 

Tyrel Morgan led the Mavs with 13 points while Demaree King added 12.  Morgan led the Mavs with seven rebounds.

"This loss stings," said coach Donnie Jackson.  "We had some good looks against their zone, we just couldn't get them to fall.  Our guys battled and never quit."

NOC shot just 39 percent from the floor and 22 percent from 3-point range.

The Mavs host NOC Enid Thursday night in the second of two games against the Jets.

"It's a big game against Enid on Thursday," he said.  "All of us are jockeying for position in the standings and we have to find a way to win this game.  They are well coached and have played good ball the second semester."
