Mavs rout OKW JV 119-37

The NOC Mavs (6-0) scored early and often in an 82 point win over an outmatched Oklahoma Wesleyan JV Tuesday night at Foster-Piper Fieldhouse.

Barron Tanner led four Mavs in double figures with 20 points while Pipo Grafals added 18.  Avante Lederer pitched in with 12 points while Deaveon Bankston had 10.

"This was a game that everyone feel good," said coach Donnie Jackson.  "Everyone got a chance to play a lot of minutes.  Some guys who hadn't been playing much got minutes early in the game and got a chance to prove they could get some minutes against tougher competition."

"Hopefully, that will provide some confidence in a few of the guys," he added.  "I'm extremely happy to see Grayson (Chandler-Early) make his debut (eight points)."

"I really liked our overall energy for the game," Jackson said.  "There are always improvements you can make each game and I felt the guys tried to get better at something."

Jackson said the Mavs' schedule will be tougher on Thursday against National Park in the Jets Classic in Enid.

"They (National Park) return an All-Region player and have a 6-9 Division 1 transfer so we'll have to be ready to compete," he said.
