Mavericks 95, Murray 74

The NOC men used a big run in each half to whip the Murray State Aggies Thursday night 95-74 and to move their win streak to 10.

Trailing 14-12 in the first half, NOC went on an 11-0 run to take a 23-14 lead.  Trevion Lamar led the run with eight of the 11 Maverick points.  Lamar led the Mavs with 23.

Then in the second half, the Mavs led 63-54 before Khobe Austin-Johnson led a 17-2 run to put the Aggies away taking an 80-56 lead.  Austin-Johnson had 13 points in that run including three 3-pointers.  Austin-Johnson finished with 17.

"We got off to a slow start but once we got going offensively, we showed what we are capable of," said Mavs head coach Donnie Jackson.  "We had a stretch in the first half where we really defended well but we need to do that for longer periods."

"It wasn't the prettiest game but the bottom line is that we got a conference victory," Jackson continued.  "We still need to clean some defensive things up but for having played three games in seven days, we'll take it."

With the win, the Maverick men improve to 15-3 overall and currently lead the conference at 4-0.

NOC is in action next on Wednesday against Redlands at 7:30 p.m.
