HOT SPRINGS, Arkansas --  The 15th ranked Mavs fell to South Arkansas 11-6 Friday in a winner's bracket game at the Region 2 Tournament at Hot Springs.

Trailing 1-0, the Mavs struck for three runs in the second as Bodee Mausser and Jadan Boyce reached base ahead of a single by Eric Harper and then a triple by Will Johnson.  

South Arkansas then answered with seven runs in the third to take an 8-3 lead.  After the Stars added two more runs to lead 10-3, the Mavs rallied for two runs as Mausser homered ahead of an Aidan Zakarewicz single.

Joseph Canzoni finished the scoring for the Mavs singling home Harper.

The Stars outhit the Mavs 12-11.

Braeden Cooch started for the Mavs with bullpen help from Kaegan Baker and Kolby Heskett.

The Mavs (50-8) face the NOC Enid-Arkansas Mountain Home winner at 3 p.m. on Saturday in an elimination.
