Watkin's blast walks off Carl Albert in extras

Caleb Watkins' three-run home run in the 9th walked off Carl Albert 11-9 in the first of two in Tonkawa Thursday afternoon.

The Mavs (38-4) improved to 10-3 in conference while Carl Albert (24-13) fell to 2-7 in league play.

Jadan Boyce added three hits for the Mavs while Aiden Zakerewicz added two hits.  Bodee Mausser added two runs batted in.

Kaegan Baker earned the win in relieft working two innings allowing one run.

Logan Taylor started for the Mavs with Garrett Folmar, Jacob Culp, and Kolby Heskett also working from the Mavs' bullpen.

NOC played uphill against the Vikings as Carl Albert jumped out to a 4-0 lead and led 8-5 in the fifth before NOC answered with three runs to tie the game at 8-8.

After three scoreless innings, the Viking pushed the go-ahead run across in the 9th to take a 9-8 lead.

The Mavs then battled back as Bodee Mausser walked and then Boyce singled giving the Mavs two on with one out.  Watkins then homered to left to give the Mavs a 11-9 win over the Vikings.
