Mavs stay alive, Region 2 final set for Monday

ENID, Oklahoma --  The NOC Mavs routed South Ark Sunday afternoon 13-4 forcing a Monday afternoon winner take all Region 2 Championship game in Enid at 1 p.m.

Monday's winner advances to the Plains District Championship series this week.

NOC broke open a 4-4 tie with nine runs over the final two innings to win 13-9.

Over the final two innings, the Mavs scored those nine runs on seven hits.

Landen Johnson continued his hot hitting with four hits including a home run and three runs batted in.  Rick Requejo added three hits while Luke Shannahan, Carson Taylor, and Blade Carver added two hits each.

Ethan Rossi added three runs batted in while Shannahan added two for the Mavs.

The Mavs built and early 4-0 lead before South Ark rallied for four runs in the 7th.

Caleb Lunnon gave the Mavs 6.2 strong innings allowing four runs on six hits.  Brenden Kamnick and Logan Taylor worked the final 2.1 innings to complete the 13-4 win.

The Mavs (42-18) have now split two games with the Stars in the series, winning Sunday afternoon 13-4 after losing 12-5 Saturday.
