Sophomore Larry Edwards, Jr. led an NOC offense that scored 33 runs in a doubleheader sweep of NWOSU JV Monday at Maverick Field.

In the doubleheader, Edwards had five hits, three doubles, two home runs, and eight runs batted in.

In Game 1, the Mavs rallied from a 4-0 deficit scoring 16 unsanswered runs in a 16-4 win.

Kaegan Baker worked 5.2 no-hit innings out of the Mavs bullpen striking out seven Ranger hitters.

Blade Carver had four hits for the Mavs including a triple and home run driving in three runs.

Matthew Stancliff and Edwards had two hits each, Landon Johnson had a home run and three runs batted in.

In Game 2, the Mavs scored eight runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings in the 17-2 win.

Edwards hit two home runs and six runs batted in for the Mavs.  In his last five games, Edwards has five home runs and 16 runs batted in.

Stancliff, Johnson, Luke Shannahan, Rick Requejo, and Daniel Yardley had two hits each.

Carson Loyd, Breck Carver, and Kadin Gehring worked for the Mavs.  

The Mavs (31-15) host Western in a three game series starting Friday at 1 p.m.
