DALLAS, Texas --  NOC Tonkawa dropped their first game of the season Wednesday 6-2 at Dallas Brookhaven.

The Mavs outhit the Bears 9-7, Blade Carver had two hits and Landen Johnson drove in both NOC runs.  The first on a first inning ground out scoring Matthew Stancliff, and the second on a single scoring Ethan Starks.

Logan Taylor started for the Mavs allowing one unearned run on five hits while striking out five.

David Brown, Luke McKinney, and Nakni Anna worked from the NOC bullpen.

Stancliff, Ethan Rossi, Luke Shannahan, Ricky Ruquejo, Starks, and Daniel Yardley, and Johnson had hits for the Mavs.

The Mavs (4-1) are at Hesston (KS) for a single game Friday at 5 p.m. and two games Saturday at noon and 3 p.m.

NOC's first home game is Feb. 15 against Pratt (KS).
