Mavs' teams, athletes earn NJCAA academic awards

Four NOC Tonkawa athletic teams earned academic honors from the NJCAA including women's soccer who finished second in the nation with a 3.61 GPA.

Following women's soccer was women's basketball at 3.30, baseball at 3.21, and softball at 3.13.

NOC Athletic Director Alan Foster said, "While we enjoy our success on the field or court of competition our student athletes continue to impress with their performances in the classroom as well."

Student-athletes are eligible to earn academic honors by achieving an overall GPA of 3.60 or higher for the 2021-22 academic year. The criteria for the three All-Academic teams are listed below:

NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.00 GPA

NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80-3.99 GPA

NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79 GPA
