Murray State came out of quarantine and walked right into a buzz saw that is the 19th ranked Mavericks women's soccer team.   The Mavs are 4-0 on the season.

Northern put the game away early and for all intents it was over at halftime with the Mavs up 5-0.  The Mavericks would add two more early in the second half to make the final score 7-0.

Janet Moreno opened the scoring for the Mavs thirteen minutes into the game after taking a pass from Marissa Neil and beating a defender before launching a shot past the keeper.  Milica Bulatovic scored her first of two goal a few minutes later after receiving a nice pass from Mia YerianCory Torres scored the third goal for the Mavs.  Chloe Wilkins picked up the assist.  Bulatovic would strike again moments later off an assist from Marissa Neil.  Just before halftime Bulatovic would assist on a goal by Josie Jarvis.

Janet Moreno opened the scoring early in the second half when her corner kick curled into the far post over the goalkeeper's head.  Four minutes later Moreno would complete her hat trick with a nice goal after receiving a pass from Heidi Wiedmeier.

"First off I want to give respect to Coach Akin and his team for playing," said coach Michael DuRoy.  "A lot of teams would have asked to postpone the game.  They showed a lot of courage coming out of quarantine and playing us."

"It wasn't our best game," he added.  "Oddly enough I thought we played better in the second half.  I'm sure part of that was that Murray was tired and didn't chase as hard.  We made a ton of little mistakes that will get us beat against the teams we have coming up on our schedule.  I was happy to see Janet found the net today.  I thought Judith Huerta played well off the bench, and Lexi Albright was as steady as always."
