Northern Oklahoma College stayed unbeaten with a convincing 4-1 win over Rich Mountain College Sunday in Tonkawa.

The Mavs are 3-0 on the season.

Milica Bulatovic started the Mavs off with a penalty kick nineteen minutes into the game.  Chloe Wilkins and Janet Moreno played a combo that led to Wilkins getting in behind the defense before being taken down in the box.  Rich Mountain would even the game late in the first half with a long shot over the head of Northern goalkeeper, Jordan Webster.  The game wasn't tied for long as Janet Moreno played a great corner kick into the box, which Samantha Mendez headed into the net to give the Mavs the lead for good.

Milica Bulatovic would open the scoring in the second half as well with an early goal.  Heidi Wiedmeier broke down the left wing, and Samantha Mendez found her with an excellent pass.  Wiedmeier was brought down with a hard tackle, but jumped up quickly and continued to the end line before serving a perfect ball to Bulatovic for the goal.  Less than a minute later the Mavs would strike again.  Mendez found Abbi Vargas open in the middle of the field.  Vargas launched a long shot over the top of the Bucks goalkeeper for the final goal of the game.  The Mavs kept the ball for long stretches at a time for the last thirty minutes of the game passing around the tired Rich Mountain team.  Northern had several passing sequences of over twelve consecutive passes killing the clock.

"I'm super proud of the girls," said coach Michael DuRoy.  "We aren't a finished team by any stretch, but we do a lot of things right.  We can really move the ball.  Our patience today was fantastic.  There were long stretches of the game where Rich Mountain couldn't touch the ball.  What I'm most pleased with is our girls ability to execute in games what we work on in training.  They pick up on concepts really fast.  We can and need to improve though.  Our fitness isn't quite where I would like it, and we need to be a little bit more gritty defensively."

Northern outshot Rich Mountain 26-7 on the day.
