All Region Honors for Women Soccer

The Mavericks Women Soccer picked up four individual awards for the season.

Skylar Yocham was named NJCAA Region 2 All-Region Soccer First Team. Skylar a freshman from Bristow High School scored 10 goals and had 6 assists.

"Skylar has had a fantastic year for us. She was our top goal scorer and high up in the rankings for us in stats too. She has been a dangerous player all year for us and has caused many teams problems. She works extremely hard on both sides of the ball which can be a rare sight for forwards. She has had a solid freshman year for us and I am proud of her." Coach Ovendale.

Sofie Joergensen was also named NJCAA Region 2 All-Region Soccer First Team. Sofie is a freshman from Denmark, she scored 2 goals and got 6 assists.

"Sofie has had a very solid year for us. It took her a little while to adapt at the beginning to some of differences in play here in the US, but since then she has been great. Sofie is very composed on the ball and does not shy away from the gritty parts of the game. She is competitive player and has been instrumental to our midfield." Coach Ovendale

Emma Peak was also named NJCAA Region 2 All Region Soccer Second Team. Emma is a sophomore from Sand Springs High School and scored 2 goals and had 1 assist.

"Emma has had to adjust and play in a few different different spots this year which has been vital for us. She is someone who will put the team first and give everything she has for us. She does a lot of the simple things right which gave us success. We are going to miss her and her leadership next year." Coach Ovendale

Janet Moreno was also named NJCAA Region All-Tournament Team. Janet is a freshman from Enid High School and scored 5 goals and had 3 assists.

"Janet has had a very steady year for us and has scored some really nice solo goals this season. Janet has added more defensive discpline to her game which has really stood out at times. I thought in the tournament she worked hard for us to win the ball back and try to create things for us. She is a very creative player and I know she will do big things for us next year."
