NOC Dominates Rich Mountain

NOC traveled to Mena, Arkansas for the last game of regular season to face Rich Mountain. The Mavs came back victorious with a solid 2-0 win.

The Mavs completely dominated the first half and moved the ball really well on a very narrow field. In the first half, the Mavericks best chances fell to Maddie Cochran and Savannah Nelson. Maddie Cochran hit a great strike which was nicely punched out of the net by Rich Mountain's goalkeeper. Savannah Nelson nearly scored her 2nd of the year when a pass across the edge of box came to her, however she hit it just over the bar. NOC continued dominate possession however were unable to have anymore real clean cut chances.

Second half the Mavs took the lead from a corner. Emma Peak delivered a great cross onto a running Sofie Joergensen who headed the ball in the top corner. Skylar Yocham picked up her 10th goal of the year when running onto a ball that slipped behind Rich Mountains right back. Yocham calmly popped the ball into the net after. Nancy Herr would pick up the assist. The Mavs continued to look after the ball for the remainder of the second half and came away with the 2-0 win. Madeline Kindred would pick up her 5th shutout of the year.

"We probably had 85% of possession today and really controlled majority of the game. We knocked it around and was patient on when to attack. Sofie Joergensen is playing on a different level right now and has been very composed on the ball. She deserved to grab a goal today. All of our focus is shifted towards Saturday now and we have a week to prepare for what will be a great game between two strong teams."

With the win NOC Women's Soccer lockdown their playoff spot which will played on November 2nd against Seminole State.

The game will be played at at D.Bruce Selby Stadium, Enid, Oklahoma. 

Kick off is scheduled for 5:00pm.
