TISHOMINGO, Oklahoma -- The NOC Maverick women soccer fell 2-1 to Murray State Thursday in Tishomingo.
NOC (2-6) fell to 1-4 in conference play.
Murray led 1-0 at half and took a 2-0 lead early in the 2nd half when NOC cut the lead to 2-1 when Skylar Yocham scored. Sofie Joergensen sent a free kick into the box and Tilly Wills headed the ball to Yocham for the goal. The goal was Yocham's sixth of the year.
"Were all very frustrated, our performances sometimes do not match up with the score line.," said coach Jade Ovendale. "However it is what it is. The positive is that these women did not give up and really fought hard to find an equalizer but we just keep falling short. We have to keep working at it - that is the only way to right our wrongs. Nothing is going to fall into our lap it's on us to put in the work and change it around."
NOC hosts NEO in another conference game Sunday at 2 p.m.
