Lady Mavs season ends in region semi-finals

MIAMI, Oklahoma - Rose State scored twice in the final 15 minutes to defeat NOC 2-0 in the soccer regional semi-final.

Rose State outshot the Lady Mavs 8-5.

NOC's best chance to score was by Katelyn Glock who was denied by the Rose State goal keeper.

"Saturday was a real battle," said interim head coach Jade Ovendale.  "In the second half Rose came out a lot quicker than us and put our defense under a lot of pressure. Our whole back line played an amazing game, Daisy Brown and Mackenzi Kirschner were solid for us. We gave up a goal from a corner with sixteen minutes to go and then they scored on a great strike."

"Losing any game is always tough," she added.  "But when you know the season is coming to an end it can become an emotional day. This group will never have another chance together, and sometimes that is a tough pill to swallow. I am gutted we could not progress further."

"This season has been a roller-coaster there has been lows and there have been highs," Ovendale said.  "I am proud of what the girls have overcome and achieved this year, they should be proud of themselves. We were up in the running for conference for a while, however we came a couple results short of challenging in the end."

NOC ended their season at 8-7-1.
