Kindred, Wilson named Maverick Student Athletes of the Week

Northern Oklahoma College athletics has named Madeline Kindred and Darrion Wilson as Student Athletes of the Week for Oct. 15.

Kindred is a freshman goal keeper for the Lady Mavs from Soldotna, Alaska, while Wilson is a sophomore midfielder from Tulsa Memorial.

"Madeline (Kindred) started in both games against Rose State and Murray State this week," said coach Jade Ovendale.  "Against Rose, Madeline made 10 saves which was crucial for the tie. Against Murray Madeline got a deserved clean sheet. Madeline has been fantastic in goal for us. She has a strong presence when dealing with crosses and is a great shot stopper."

"Darrion (Wilson) has been great for us all year," said coach Michael DuRoy.   "His importance isn't measured through statistics, but he has been one of our most valuable players.  He covers so much ground in the midfield.  He is the key to our transition.  He is always around the ball.  I couldn't be more proud of the growth he has shown as a player and a person in his two years here."
