Late Seminole goal upends Lady Mavs

SEMINOLE, Oklahoma --  Seminole's Nikayenze Yudaya scored in the game's 80th minute to beat NOC 1-0 at Seminole Thursday afternoon.

The Lady Mavs (4-4) fell to 4-2 in conference play.

"It was a battle between two good teams, the game didn't see a goal until the 80 minute of the game," said coach Jade Ovendale.        "The game was evenly matched at times with both teams having some good opportunities to score in both halves. Unfortunately they scored the goal near the end of the game."

"The performance from the girls despite the score has been the best yet in terms as defending as a collective," Ovendale added.    "Every player worked really hard all game and even when they scored we still continued to press forward and try and find an equalizer. Madeline Kindred returned back to goal after being out with injury for a few weeks, stepped up and made some big saves. If we can play every game with the intensity we did today and finish our chances we will make it difficult for the opposition."

NOC travels to NEO Sunday afternoon starting at 3 p.m.
