In a battle for the NJCAA Region 2 Conference lead, Rose State shut out the Lady Mavs 2-0.

The Lady Mavs fell to 3-3 on the year and are 3-1 in conference play.  Rose improved to 7-1-1 and 4-0 in conference play.

Rose scored twice within two minutes in the first half and made the lead stand up.

"There were times in both halves of the game where we had some great opportunities to create chances however our decision making in the final third let us down," said interim head coach Jade Ovendale.  "We have to start winning more balls in midfield and continue to work hard when the game does not fall our way. I think the ladies that have come off the bench the past couple of games have really stepped up and helped us out. It is always tough to take a loss, but we can't dwell on it."

Rose outshot NOC 7-5.

NOC hosts Murray at 2 p.m. Thursday.
