Lady Mavs open season at Cloud County
The NOC Women's Soccer opens the 2018 season Monday, Aug. 27 at Cloud County (KS) under interim head coach Jade Ovendale.
 
NOC Tonkawa is ranked 13th in the initial NJCAA poll or 2018.
 
The Lady Mavs have a 35-4-2 the previous two years and have been the Region 2 Champions.  They have also been nationally ranked both years.
 
Unfortunately, the Lady Mavs lost to #1 ranked Tyler (TX) in the playoffs two straight years. Tyler ended up winning the National Championship last year.
 
The Lady Mavs return Megan Deshazo (10 goals), Kayla Mireles (nine goals) back from last year and have added newcomers Piper Woodward and Kenlie Adkins to the Lady Mavs lineup.
 
Region II has six teams including NOC Tonkawa, Rose State College, Redlands Community College, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, Seminole State College and Eastern Oklahoma State College.
 
Other teams on the schedule include Cloud County Community College (KS), Butler Community College (KS), and Metropolitan Community College (NE).
 
Butler Community College is ranked 12th and Cloud County is ranked 14th in the season's first poll.
